Ramesh Balasubramaniam is an Oral Medicine Specialist with expertise in temporomandibular disorders, orofacial pain, and dental sleep medicine. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications, co-authored several chapters, and co-edited and co-authored three books, notably “Contemporary Oral Medicine”. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals.
Ramesh is an associate professor and discipline lead in Oral Medicine at the University of Western Australia Dental School and is actively involved in teaching and research. He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally. For his ongoing contributions to dentistry, he has received several awards including fellowships in the International College of Dentists, the Academy of Dentistry International, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2021. Ramesh was president of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia (2019-2022). He also has public appointments at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia and the Perth Children’s Hospital.

Dr Craig Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) with Second Class Honours from the University of Sydney in 1986. He is a general dental practitioner and has been running his own two-dentist practice in Manly, Sydney, since 1988. Craig worked for ADA NSW Advisory Services on a part-time basis for over 10 years, firstly as a Peer Advisor and subsequently in a consultancy capacity. He has held an appointment as Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Dentistry and Health Sciences at Charles Sturt University and was admitted as a Fellow of both the Academy of Dentistry International and the Pierre Fauchard Academy in 2015 and the International College of Dentists in 2021. Craig has had numerous articles on dento-legal matters published in The NSW Dentist and the Guild Insurance Annual Dento-Legal Review and currently provides individually-developed one-on-one educational programs to practitioners to enable them to meet specific regulatory requirements. He has presented widely within NSW and the ACT and at the FDI World Dental Congress. Craig was the recipient of the ADA NSW Award of Merit in 2021.

Dr Cho studied at the University of Sydney, completing his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours and Masters in Dental Science (Prosthodontics). He is the principal at Canberra Prosthodontics and immediate past president of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Prosthodontics and teaches for the University of Sydney, Charles Sturt University, and various dental organisations.

Dr Martin Gale

Martin Gale is a qualified dentist who graduated from The University of Newcastle, UK in 1989. He worked in general dental practice for several years before completing a PhD in restorative dentistry at The University of Hong Kong in 1997. Martin acquired the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons fellowship in 1998 and later completed a masters program in endodontics at The University of Melbourne in 2000. Since then, Dr Gale has been working as a specialist endodontist in Ivanhoe, Melbourne, while continuing his research.
He has coded a software application that collects and predicts the infection status of pulp spaces from clinical and radiographic signs. The software uses a machine learning technique with a proprietary neural network. Dr Gale continues to research the further implementation of artificial intelligence into dentistry.
Dr Gale is a committee member for the Australian Society of Endodontology (Victorian Branch) and for the Federal ADA’s Dental Informatics and Digital Health Committee (DIDHC). More recently, he has been invited to a working group at the International Standards Organisation (ISO). This working group is developing an ISO standard for diagnosing two-dimensional dental radiographs by artificial intelligence. Dr Gale enjoys full-time clinical endodontic specialist practice in Ivanhoe, Melbourne. He also mentors final-year dental students for the University of Melbourne and new dental graduates for the ADA Victoria Branch.

Dr Narayan Gandedkar is a Senior Lecturer and serves as the Discipline Lead and Coordinator of Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) (Orthodontics), and Post-Graduate Supervisor of DClinDent (Orthodontics) at the School of Dentistry, University of Sydney. He is also the Facilitator/Course Director for Orthodontics Courses 1, 2, and 3 (Sydney Health Executive Education – UniSyd ).
Dr Gandedkar is certified by the Australasian Orthodontic Board (ABO) and is a member of ADA NSW branch and Academic membership of Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO). He serves as the Associate Editor of Seminars in Orthodontics, APOS-Journal and Editorial Board Member of Thai Orthodontic Journal and JIOS, and also reviews for over fourteen speciality-based international journals.
Dr Gandedkar has conducted more than twenty-five workshops in Orthognathic Surgery, Craniofacial Orthodontics, and has delivered over thirty-five presentations as an Invited Speaker/Oral Presenter at the American Association of Orthodontists meeting (AAO) (USA), The American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association ACPA (USA), India, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Bangladesh, and other countries.
He has published over sixty-five international papers/book chapters and co-authored a textbook titled “Surgery-First Orthodontic Management: A Clinical Guide to a New Treatment Approach”, published by Springer International, Switzerland in 2019. Dr Christopher Ho is a Specialist Prosthodontist who received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney. He completed postgraduate studies in the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry in Oral Implants at the University of Sydney, a Masters of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics with Distinction from the University of London and Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics from the University of Sydney. He is Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, Special Field Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.
Dr Ho lectures extensively on aesthetic and implant dentistry both nationally and internationally. He is a visiting lecturer to the postgraduate programs at the University of Sydney, Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor at University of Puthisastra, Faculty member of the Global Institute for Dental Education and Visiting Lecturer at Kings College London, United Kingdom. Ken is a Prosthodontist and attained his BDS in 1992, GradDipClinDent(Oral Implants) in 2003 and MDSc in 2009. His professional experience includes general and specialist roles in Sydney and NSW regional locations. He is owner and operator of Kingsway Prosthodontics, a referral practice in Miranda, Sydney, providing specialist clinical services in implant, aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry. He is the current AANZP Scientific Chair 2022-24, holding a Scientific Committee position since 2016. His APS commitments include Federal President 2013-15, NSW State Representative 2010-13 and Education and Research Committee Member since 2021. Ken was a Member of the Sydney University Continuing Education in Dentistry Advisory Group 2011-19, and served as its Chair 2015-19. In 2004-05, he was part of the AOS Federal Executive, the event secretariat of its 2005 Biennial Conference in Canberra. His teaching experience includes roles with AQF Level 7, 8 and 10 University programs between 1993-2019, including SDS dental undergraduates, implant postgraduates of SDS, CSU and JCU, and DClinDent(Sydney). He is a Director of CREED CE, a private company providing professional development services for Australian Dentists. In April 2023, Ken completed a Certificate in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence with the Institute of Data, University of Technology Sydney.

Dr Sarah Jones graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) with Honours from Sydney University. She is a general dental practitioner who works for ADA NSW Advisory Services and has done so for over 9 years. Her role is largely based on managing complaints, claims, and adverse events for dental practitioners, often working closely with insurers and lawyers to assist members in resolving these matters. A large part of her role is to assist practitioners through education, prevention, and risk mitigation.
She has published numerous articles on dento-legal matters in the NSW Dentist and has presented at CPD events on multiple occasions. She has also held a variety of clinical positions in both public and private dental clinics, with a combination of metropolitan, rural, and regional practice, tertiary referral centres, and hospital multi-disciplinary teams. Tino is a clinician, teacher, mentor, and clinical researcher. He was awarded the 2021 Australian Dental Association (ADA) Service Medallion Award for “his contribution to clinical periodontics, periodontal research and dedication to teaching”.
Tino holds a Clinical Associate Professor position at the Periodontal Post-Graduate Department at the University of Sydney, University of Queensland, and Otago University. His publications dealt with periodontal prognostication, Periodontal Medicine (correlating Periodontitis to Rheumatoid Arthritis, Diabetes Mellitus, and other systemic inflammation), mucogingival surgical techniques and bone regeneration. His Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) topic was on regenerative management of peri-implantitis and management of recession around teeth and implants using autogenous and alternative tissues with biologically active products.
He is the President of the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP 2024-2026). He is the founding President of the Filipino-Australian Dental Association (FADA), a group that supports Filipinos and promotes Filipino culture in Australia. FADA also organises dental symposiums and charity missions to remote areas of Australia and the Philippines. He is the Chair of Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS)-NSW. He is twice the recipient of the National and Health Medical Research Council Scholarship (NHMRC, 1998 and 2011). His clinical research on maxillary anterior ridge preservation won Best Clinical Research at the 2021 Osteology World Symposium.

Dr Diane Tay is a registered specialist paediatric dentist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) from the University of Melbourne, and after several years of working in both the private and public sectors in Sydney, Diane went on to pursue her passion in paediatric dentistry, successfully attaining a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (paediatric dentistry) from The University of Sydney. Her research thesis was based on frenotomies and its effectiveness on infants with tongue-ties and feeding difficulties. A/Prof Young obtained his BDS degree (University Medal) from the University of Sydney, his specialist degree from the University of Melbourne, and was the first endodontist in NSW awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the Special Field of Endodontics. He subsequently established Sydney Endodontic Centre – a specialist endodontic group practice in the Inner West of Sydney. A/Prof Young is Head of Endodontics at the Department of Dentistry, Latrobe University. He holds an Adjunct Associate Professor appointment at the School of Dentistry and Medical Sciences, Charles Sturt University, and a Clinical Senior Lecturer appointment at the University of Sydney where he has provided clinical teaching for over 15 years. A/Prof Young is committed to the development and provision of continuing education through the Australian Dental Association and the RACDS. He is a past president of the Australian Society of Endodontology (NSW Branch), having served on the executive committee for over 8 years, and a past Councillor and Board Director of ADA(NSW).
